EVERY BRILLIANT THING
Sound Design
Every Brilliant Thing was a very personal show with its subject matter based on the Narrator's history of death and mental health through their life. This piece made it important to have a very strong close connection between the audience and the Narrator to also have the ability to rely on the audience for their interaction in the play.
With such a strong subject matter being discussed throughout the play, it was important to be able to hear the words as well as embellish and reinforced the strong emotional moments of the Narrator's story. I composed a few small, simple pieces that were able to subtly sneak into the background of the Narrator's words conveying emotional states like the deep sadness with one's first experience death to melancholy memories of loved ones. All of which were able to help elevate the emotional depth and power of this story being told.
